Judy and Ben Svoboda of Dickinson have acreage along Dickinson Bayou. Ben is a retired veterinarian who began renting the place in the early '70s for a mere $50 a month. Was 12 acres at the time on the bayou with a 5-bedroom house built in 1927. He was eventually able to buy the house and 8 acres of the property.
